7th and 8th Grade Year Long Spanish
BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT
7th and 8th GRADE YL SPANISH
Sra. Pettit—Salón C6
·
Avancemos—textbook and workbooks—same as H.S. uses. There is one class set for home and one for school. The goal is to finish through Unit 3 in 7th Grade and Unit 7 in 8th grade
—Practice Workbook kept in classroom—pages removed from work books and handed out as assigned.
Grades:
· Quizzes and tests: Usually 4 quizzes per chapter, 2 chapters per unit. One test at the end of each unit.
· Graded Speaking Assignments
· Classwork/Homework—Each assignment will be worth 4 points if complete and mostly correct. O points if not done, 1-3 pts if only partially done or done incorrectly. We will go over the HW in class each day, and the exercises are the same type as they have on tests, so consistently completing homework is essential.
· Sometimes the HW is work that was not finished in class, sometimes a separate assignment. No HW on Fridays or the night after a test.
· No late assignments accepted, except in the event of an absence, in which case the student will have 1 extra day for each day absent.
· Projects, each between 60 and 100 points.
· Traditional Grading Scale (90-100%=A; 80-90%=B, etc.)
· Grades can be viewed on jupitergrades.com. There is a link on the district website.
Extra help—Lunchtime or after school by appointment.
Online practice—Holt McDougal—students will receive a username and password.
