My name is Katie Haver and I am pleased to be your child’s teacher. This is my 13th year teaching at Pleasant Grove Middle School, 15 with Rescue Union School District and 18 in the profession. I earned my Bachelor’s of Arts degree from San Diego State University in Psychology. I went on to earn my single subject credential in mild to moderate disabilities and a multiple subjects credential with an emphasis in social science from San Francisco State University. In addition, I have completed my single subject credential in Social Science and will be completing my Masters in Educational Technology at Sacramento State University in May 2017.
I began my career as a special education teacher, working with students with mild to moderate disabilities for eight years. This position offered me access to the curriculum and an appreciation for individual learning differences. When a position opened in the history department I took the opportunity to move into a new position, teaching 7th grade history. Within the past few years I added several periods of 8th grade history to my schedule, which provides me the opportunity to work with many of my students for 2 years, I enjoy seeing how much they change over the 2 years!
In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family outdoors, camping in the summer and snowboarding in the winter. Year round I enjoy reading and learning, probably two of the main reasons why I became a teacher. Every year is a new adventure, I look forward to working with you all!
